Boating Safety Class February 11th and 18th, 2012
The Massachusetts Environmental Police along with the Plymouth Harbor Police will host a Boating Safety Class.  It is a 12 hour course of instruction that will be conducted on 2 separate Saturdays.  Attendees will need to attend both Saturdays and pass a written exam to successfully complete the course.  A certificate will be issued, and this will qualify the Young Marines who complete the course for the Young Marine Seamanship Ribbon.

Young Marines and Adults are invited to attend.  Young Marines must be at least 12 years old to attend.

Participants will need to be at the Boys and Girls Club by 0830 on Saturday February 11th, and again on Saturday February 18th.  Everyone should bring a snack, and a bag lunch.  The class will dismiss each day at 1530.  The uniform will be civilian clothing with the red Young Marine T-Shirt.

Range Day Tuesday February 21, 2012
The Standish Sportsman's Association has been gracious to offer Old Colony Young Marines exclusive use of the club's indoor range on Tuesday February 21, 2012.  This will be an opportunity for Young Marines to attend a firearms safety class and shoot a .22 caliber rifle for qualification.  There will be a cost of $10 per Young Marine that will be used to pay for the ammunition, and lunch.

Young Marines will need to meet at the Standish Sportsman's Association by 0900.  If there is any Young Marine who would like to attend but cannot get a ride they should contact Major Pravati and he will find a ride for that Young Marine.  Young Marines will then need to be picked up at the Standish Sportsman's Association at 1500.

The uniform will be civilian clothes with unit sweatshirt.  Dress warm because the range can be a bit chilly.

The unit will provide eye and hearing protection will be provided by the unit.  If you have your own, you are welcome to bring it.

March 31, 2012 Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser
Old Colony will be holding a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on Saturday March 31, 2012 at the Saint Bonaventure Church located at 803 State Road in Plymouth.

Young Marines will be given tickets to pre-sell for the event.  Tickets will be $10.00.  Tickets will also be sold at the door. 

Young Marines and Parents will be asked to help set up, cook and serve duering the event.
